Der Anstoß der Übertragung beginnt mit dem Senden eines „READ[13]“ zum Terminal.
Das Terminal antwortet bei bestehender Verbindung mit „ACK[13]“.
Danach sendet das Terminal den ersten Record.
Struktur: Nddd...dddHL[13]
N = rotierende Nummer von 0 bis 9, aufsteigend (Wert wird als ASCII(0) bis ASCII(9) besetzt)
ddd...ddd = Daten
H = High-Byte check digit (Wert wird als einzelnes ASCII-Zeichen gesetzt)
L = Low-Byte check digit (Wert wird als einzelnes ASCII-Zeichen gesetzt)
Kalkulation der Checkdigits
Beispielhaft gehen wir von folgendem Record aus:
[0]1234567895[18][2][CR]
Die Summe aller ASCII-Werte von N und der Datenzeichen wird berechnet
[0]+[49]+[50]+[51]+[52]+[53]+[54]+[55]+[56]+[57]+[53] = 530
und quasi in folgende Tabelle eingetragen:

Die Spalten „1“ bis „128“ stellen dann den High-Byte Checkdigit dar (in diesem Fall also „18“), die
Reihen „256“ bis „16384“ werden nochmals auf den normalen Binärcode zurückverwandelt.

Somit ergibt sich jetzt für den Low-Byte Checkdigit „2“.
Ausnahme: Wenn einer der beiden Checkdigits ASCII 13 ist, wird er auf ASCII 14 gesetzt.
Nach Eingang eines Records vom Terminal zum PC kann man jetzt eine Gegenkalkulation
durchführen und sendet ggfs. ein „NAK[13]“, wenn die Kalkulation nicht das gleiche Ergebnis gebracht
hat. Das Terminal sendet dann den Record nochmals.
Bei korrekter Übertragung sendet man vom PC ein „ACK[13]“ um das Senden des nächsten Records
zu veranlassen.
Nachdem alle Records gesendet worden sind, sendet das Terminal ein „OVER[13]“.
Natürlich kann man die Records auch ohne Checkdigitkalkulation empfangen, man schneidet lediglich
das erste und die letzten beiden Zeichen eines Records weg.
Zur Sicherstellung eines korrekten Datenempfanges empfehlen wir aber eine Gegenprüfung.

การปิด​ใช้​งาน​ Autoplay ​บน​ Windows XP

ใน​ปัจจุบันสื่อเก็บข้อมูลแบบ​ USB Flash Drive ​นั้น​ ​เป็น​ที่นิยม​ใช้​งาน​กัน​อย่างกว้างขวาง​ ​เนื่อง​จาก​ราคาที่​ไม่​แพง​และ​การ​ใช้​งานก็สะดวก​ ​แต่ว่า​ใน​ช่วงหลายๆ​ ​เดือนที่ผ่านมา​นั้น​ ​มี​ไสรัสหลายตัวที่​ใช้​วิธีการแพรระบาดผ่านทาง​ USB Flash Drive ​ประ​เด็น​หรือ​ต้นเหตุของปัญหา​เรื่องนี้​ไม่​ได้​อยู่​ที่ตัว​ Flash Drive ​เอง​ ​แต่​เกิด​จาก​ฟังค์ชัน​ AutoPlay ​ซึ่ง​จะ​ทำ​หน้าที่​เปิดแผ่น​ CD ​หรือ​ไดรฟ์​ USB ​โดย​อัตโนมัติ

Autoplay ​นั้น​มีประ​โยชน์​ใน​แง่ของการ​ช่วย​อำ​นวยแก้​ผู้​ใช้​ ​โดย​การเปิดไฟล์มัลติมี​เดียที่จัดเก็บ​อยู่​บนสื่อแบบพกพาต่าง​ ​เช่น​ Flash drive ​หรือ​ ​แผ่น​ CD ​ให้​อัตโนมัติ​ ​นั้น​คือ​ ​เมื่อเราทำ​การต่อ​ flash drive ​หรือ​ ​ใส่​แผน​ CD ​ระบบก็​จะ​ทำ​งานตามที่​เราตั้งค่า​ไว้​ ​เช่น​ ​หากทำ​การกำ​หนด​ให้​เล่นไฟล์ประ​เภท​ mp3 ​โดย​อัตโนมัติ​ด้วย​โปรแกรม​ Windows Media Palyer ​ดัง​นั้น​เมื่อเรา​ใส่​แผ่น​ CD ​ที่​เก็บไฟล์​ mp3 ​อยู่​ระบบก็​จะ​ทำ​การเปิดไฟล์ดังกล่าว​ด้วย​ Windows Media Palyer ​เป็น​ต้น

ใน​กรณีที่​ ​แผ่น​ CD ​หรือ​ Flash Drive ​มี​ไฟล์​ Autorun.inf ​เก็บ​อยู่​นอกสุดของโครงสร้าง​ ​เช่น​ F:\Autorun.inf ​และ​ Autoplay ​ของไดรฟ์​นั้น​เปิด​อยู่​ ​เมื่อเรา​ใส่​แผ่น​ CD ​หรือ​ ​ทำ​การต่อ​ flash drive ​ระบบก็​จะ​ทำ​งานตามคำ​สั่ง​ใน​ไฟล์​ Autorun.inf ​โดย​อัตโนมัติ​ ​ซึ่ง​ข้อนี้​เองที่​เป็น​ช่องโหว่ที่นักพัฒนา​ไวรัส​ได้​นำ​ไป​ใช้​ประ​โยชน์​ใน​การแพร่กระจายไวรัสผ่านทาง​ flash drive ​โดย​จะ​ทำ​การสำ​เนา​ไฟล์​ไวรัส​(อาจ​เป็น​ไฟล์ประ​เภท​ .exe ​หรือ​ .vbs ​หรือ​ไฟล์ประ​เภท​อื่นๆ​ ​ที่​สามารถ​เอ็กซีคิวท์​ได้)​ ​และ​ Autorun.inf ​ลง​ใน​ flash drive ​และ​ถ้า​เครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์​ได้​ทำ​การเปิด​ Autoplay ​บนไดรฟ์​ USB ​ไว้​ ​ดัง​นั้น​เมื่อใครก็ตามทำ​การต่อ​ flash drive ​กับ​คอมพิวเตอร์​เครื่องเครื่องดังกล่าว​ ​ระบบก็​จะ​ทำ​การเอ็กซีคิวท์​ไฟล์​ไวรัสทันที​ ​และ​แน่นอนคอมพิวเตอร์​เครื่อง​นั้น​ (อาจ​เป็น​เครื่องของตัวท่านเอง) ​ก็​จะ​ติดไวรัส​ใน​ทันที

สำ​หรับวิธีการป้อง​กัน​ ​ไม้​ให้​ทำ​การเอ็กซีคิวท์​ไฟล์​ไวรัส​โดย​อัตโนมัติ​นั้น​ ​สามารถ​ทำ​ได้​โดย​การปิดการ​ใช้​งาน​ Autoplay (เพื่อ​ความ​ปลอดภัยสูงสุดขอแนะนำ​ให้​ทำ​การปิด​ Autoplay ​บนทุกๆ​ ​ไดรฟ์) ​ซึ่ง​วิธีการมีดังนี้

1. ​คลิก​ Start ​คลิก​ Run ​พิมพ์​ GPEDIT.MSC ​เสร็จ​แล้ว​กด​ Enter
2. ​ใน​หน้าต่าง​ Group Policy Editor ​ให้​คลิกที่​เครื่องหมาย​ + ​หน้า​ Computer Configuration ​จาก​นั้น​คลิกที่​เครื่องหมาย​ + ​หน้า​ Administrative Templates ​แล้ว​คลิกที่​ System ​ดังรูปที่​ 1

ใน​ตอนนี้​จะ​เป็น​การปิดการ​ใช้​งาน​ Autoplay ​บนทุกๆ​ ​ไดรฟ์​ ​และ​ทุกๆ​ ​ผู้​ใช้​ ​เนื่อง​จาก​เป็น​การตั้งค่าที่​ Computer Configuration ​ซึ่ง​จะ​มีผล​กับ​ทั้ง​ระบบ​ ​แต่​ถ้า​หาก​ต้อง​การปิดการ​ใช้​งาน​ Autoplay ​เฉพาะ​ผู้​ใช้​คน​ใด​คนหนึ่ง​ ​ก็​ให้​เปลี่ยน​จาก​ Computer Configuration ​ใน​ข้อที่​ 2 ​เป็น​ User Configuration

SQL injection By Present Group 11 Section 1 Project for 423402 Computer Security Term 1/2549 SQL injection By Present Group 11 Section 1 B4600589 นายเกริกชัย วิชัยดิษฐ B4601319 นายจิระพัน โสขุมา B4605041 นายประวิทย์ ทองเน่า SQL Injection คือ การที่ในเวปมีการรับข้อมูลจากผู้ใช้ แล้วนำไปใช้ในการสั่งให้ฐานข้อมูลทำงาน แล้ว ผู้ใช้พยายามที่จะหลอกโปรแกรมให้ทำงานนอกเหนือจากที่เราต้องการ หรือ หลอกให้โปรแกรมทำงานโดยผ่านการตรวจสอบเงื่อนไขบางอย่าง Injection Flaws หมายถึง แฮกเกอร์สามารถที่จะแทรก Malicious Code หรือ คำสั่งที่แฮกเกอร์ใช้ในการเจาะระบบส่งผ่าน Web Application ไปยังระบบภายนอกที่เราเชื่อมต่ออยู่ เช่น ระบบฐานข้อมูล SQL โดยวิธี SQL Injection หรือ เรียก External Program ผ่าน shell command ของระบบปฎิบัติการ เป็นต้น ส่วนใหญ่แล้วแฮกเกอร์จะใช้วิธีนี้ในช่วงการทำ Authentication หรือการ Login เข้าระบบผ่านทาง Web Application เช่น Web Site บางแห่งชอบใช้ "/admin" ในการเข้าสู่หน้า Admin ของ ระบบ ซึ่งเป็นช่องโหว่ให้แฮกเกอร์สามารถเดาได้เลยว่า เราใช้ http://www.mycompany.com/admin ในการเข้าไปจัดการบริหาร Web Site ดังนั้นเราจึงควรเปลี่ยนเป็นคำอื่นที่ไม่ใช่ "/admin" ก็จะช่วยได้มาก วิธีการทำ SQL injection ก็คือ แฮกเกอร์จะใส่ชื่อ username อะไรก็ได้แต่ password สำหรับการทำ SQL injection จะใส่เป็น Logic Statement ยกตัวอย่างเช่น ' or '1' = '1 หรือ " or "1"= "1 หรือ a' or 1=1-- Query = "SELECT * FROM product WHERE Password='$input'"; แต่ผู้ใช้ทำการใส่ ข้อมูลเป็น a' or 1=1-- ดังนั้น query ที่ได้จะเป้น Query = "SELECT * FROM product WHERE Password='a' or 1=1--'"; จะเห็นว่าเมื่อนำไช้งานแล้ว จะสามารถเรียกดูข้อมูลได้เสมอ เนื่องจาก 1=1 เป็นจริง สมมุติว่า มีโค้ดต่อไปนี้ใน application และ parameter "userName" ซึ่งประกอบด้วย ชื่อผู้ใช้ ช่องโหว่แบบ SQL Injection เกิดขึ้นในโค้ดนี้: statement := "SELECT * FROM users WHERE name = '" + userName + "';" ถ้าป้อน "a'; DROP TABLE users; SELECT * FROM data WHERE name LIKE '%" เข้าไปในส่วน "userName" จะทำให้เกิด SQL statement ต่อไปนี้ SELECT * FROM users WHERE name = 'a'; DROP TABLE users; SELECT * FROM data WHERE name LIKE '%'; ฐานข้อมูลจะเอ็กซิคิวท์ statement ตามลำดับ คือ select data, drop user table และ select data ทำให้ผู้ใช้เว็ปสามารถดูหรือแก้ไขข้อมูลใด ๆ ที่อยู่ในฐานข้อมูล ที่ผู้ใช้ที่เชื่อมโยงกับฐานข้อมูลสามารถอ่าน หรือแก้ไขได้ วิธีการป้องกัน นักพัฒนาระบบ (Web Application Developer) ควรจะระมัดระวัง input string ที่มาจากทางฝั่ง Client (Web Browser) และไม่ควรใช้วิธีติดต่อกับระบบภายนอกโดยไม่จำเป็น ควรมีการ "กรอง" ข้อมูลขาเข้าที่มาจาก Web Browser ผ่านมาทางผู้ใช้ Client อย่างละเอียด และ ทำการ "กรอง" ข้อมูลที่มีลักษณะที่เป็น SQL injection statement ออกไปเสียก่อนที่จะส่งให้กับระบบฐานข้อมูล SQL ต่อไป การใช้ Stored Procedure หรือ Trigger ก็เป็นทางออกหนึ่งในการเขียนโปรแกรมสั่งงานไปยังระบบฐานข้อมูล SQL ซึ่งมีความปลอดภัยมากกว่าการใช้ "Dynamic SQL Statement " กับฐานข้อมูล SQL ตรงๆ ช่องโหว่แบบ SQL Injection สามารถแก้ไขได้ใน programming language ส่วนใหญ่ ในภาษา Java ควรมีการใช้ PreparedStatement class แทนที่จะใช้ Connection con = (acquire Connection) Statement stmt = con.createStatement(); ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM users WHERE name = '" + userName + "';"); ให้ใช้โค้ดต่อไปนี้แทน Connection con = (acquire Connection) PreparedStatement pstmt = con.prepareStatement("SELECT * FROM users WHERE name = ?"); pstmt.setString(1, userName); ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery(); References http://monitor.truehits.net/scan/faq/sqlinjection.php http://www.acisonline.net/article_prinya_hackweb2.htm http://infosec.sran.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=114&page=1

การเรียงสีของสายแลน	เริ่มจาก จากซ้ายไปขวาน่ะครับ จะเป็นดังนี้ 1 ขาวส้ม 2 ส้ม 3 ขาวเขียว 4 น้ำเงิน 5 ขาวน้ำเงิน 6 เขียว 7 ขาวน้ำตาล 8 น้ำตาล ปล. ถ้าเป็นสายธรรมดา ทั้ง 2 หัวจะเรียงเหมือนกัน แต่ถ้าเป็นสายไขว์ให้สลับ(เบอร์ 1 กับ 3) และ (เบอร์ 2 กับ 6) ที่ด้านใดด้านหนึ่งครับ
เพิ่มแบนด์วิทของ win XP ให้ net แรงขึ้น	ขั้นตอนแรก ให้คุณล็อกอินเข้าระบบด้วยบัญชีผู้ใช้เป็น Administrator (อย่าใช้แอคเคาต์) เสร็จแล้วให้คลิกปุ่ม Start เลือกคำสั่ง Run ในกล่องข้อความ Open พิมพ์ gpedit.msc คลิกปุ่ม OK สังเกตุคลิกเครื่องหมายบวกที่อยู่หน้าไอเท็ม Local Computer Policy เพื่อดูออปชันต่างๆ ที่อยู่ภายใน จากนั้นคลิกต่อที่หน้าไอเท็ม Administrative Templates จากนั้นคลิกหน้าไอเท็ม Network คลิกเลือกไฮไลท์หัวข้อ QoS Packet Scheduler ในกรอบหน้าต่างทางซ้าย สังเกตุที่หน้าต่างด้านขวาให้ดับเบิ้ลคลิกบนหัวข้อ limit reservable bandwidth แท็บ setting ให้คลิกเลือกหัวข้อ enabled จากนั้นตรงตำแหน่งที่แจ้งว่า Bandwidth limit % ให้แก้เป็น “0” แล้วบู๊ตเครื่องใหม่
google หา serial number โปรแกรม	google หา serial number โปรแกรม ง่ายๆครับแค่ ใส่ "ชือโปรแกรม"ตามด้วย 94FBR เท่านั้นเอง อย่างตัวอย่างผมจะหา serial โปรแกรมPhotoshop 7ผมก็พิมพ์ตามข้างล่าง "Photoshop 7" 94FBR
การ Back Up Registry	1. ไป Start แล้วคลิก Run พิม Regedit 2. คลิกขวาที่ MyComputer แล้วเลือก Export 3. เลือกที่ที่จะเก็บ Backup registry เอาไว้ แล้วกด Save 4. เวลาจะเปลี่ยนคืนให้ เข้ามาที่เดิม แต่ไปที่ File แล้วเลือก Import 5. จากนั้นเลือกไฟล์รีจิสทรีที่เราสำรองไว้ แล้วกด Open หรือ อีกวิธีการหนึ่งคือ ดับเบิ้ลคลิกที่ไฟล์ reg นั้นโดยตรงแล้วกด OK เลยก็ได้
การทำภาพเคลื่อนไหวบนหน้าจอ	วิธีการกำหนดภาพเคลื่อนไหวบนหน้าจอภาพ โดยการนำไฟล์ Gif Animate มาวางไว้ ให้ทำตามขั้นตอนต่อไปนี้นะจ๊ะ 1) Click ขวาบนหน้าจอแล้วไปที่ Properties 2) Click แท็บ Desktop 3) Click ปุ่ม Customize Desktop 4) Click แท็บ Web นะ 5) Click ปุ่ม New 6) Click ปุ่ม Browse ค้นหาไฟล์ภาพเคลื่อนไหวที่เราต้องการ Click ปุ่ม Ok เป็นอันเสร็จ(ถ้ายังไม่เสร็จก็ OK ไปเรื่อยๆนั่นแหละ)

Because Windows Server 2003 is a 'Server', the event tracker plays a crucial role so that it can keep logs on why the server was shutdown/rebooted. Since we want it to be a Workstation, we will easily attempt to disable this feature. Again, its so damn simple :-)
Group Policy Editor We will need to go into Group Policy Object Editor, go to Start -> Run -> and type gpedit.msc followed by enter. You should see the Group Policy Editor as shown on the left. Browse to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> now look in the right window pane and double click on Display Shutdown Event Tracker.

This window will now appear, simply select Disabled and then proceed to click on OK. Now close the Group Policy Object Editor window. If all goes well, you should get this when you attempt to shutdown:

Now that you have IE ready for Internet browsing, and disabled the Shutdown Event Tracker, now's a good time to start downloading and installing all those drivers! After you have done so, move on to the next section - where we will accelerate our Graphics card and enable DirectX!

Slipstreaming Windows XP

Slipstreaming Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Create Bootable CD

Slipstreaming a Service Pack, is the process to integrate the Service Pack into the installation so that with every new installation the Operating System and Service Pack are installed at the same time.

Slipstreaming is usually done on network shares on corporate systems. But with the advent of CD burners, it does actually make some sense for the home user or small business user to do the same.

Microsoft added the ability to Slipstream a Service Pack to Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It not only has the advantage that when you (re)install your OS, you don't have to apply the Service Pack later, also if you update any Windows component later, you'll be sure that you get the correct installation files if Windows needs any.

Download the (full) "Network Install" of the Service Pack (English version [266 MB]), and save it to a directory (folder) on your hard drive (in my case D:\XP-SP2). Other languages can be downloaded from the Microsoft Download Web site.

Note: do not use spaces in the folder name!

Next copy your Windows XP CD to your hard drive. Just create a folder (I used \XP-CD), and copy all the contents of your Windows XP CD in that folder.

Next, open a Command Prompt (Start > Run > cmd), and go to the folder where you downloaded SP2 (cd \foldername). Type the command: servicepack filename /integrate:drive/path. In my example the command is WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU /integrate:D:\XP-CD.

If you get the error:

This service pack can't be integrated error

This is caused by the fact that your Windows XP CD contains updates that will be automatically installed when you run setup. This type of CD's will usually be from larger OEM suppliers (like Dell, HP, or others).

You cannot use this type of CD to create a slipstreamed SP2 install.

First, the files will be extracted, and next they will be integrated in your Windows XP files:

When ready, you should get a confirmation. Windows XP Service Pack 2 has now been Slipstreamed into your original Windows XP files.

Creating a Bootable CD

For this part I used IsoBuster and Nero Burning ROM 6 (make sure you have the latest version, but at least 5.5.9.0).

After you install IsoBuster, you can choose to use only the product's free functionality for what we want to do, IsoBuster will look like the image below (you need to have your original Windows XP CD in the CD-ROM drive).

Start to extract the boot loader from the original Windows XP CD. Using IsoBuster, select the "folder" Bootable CD, and right-click Microsoft Corporation.img. From the menu choose Extract Microsoft Corporation.img, and extract it to the folder on your hard drive where you have your Windows XP files (D:\XP-CD in my case).

Next, start Nero Burning ROM, and choose CD-ROM (Boot) in the New Compilation window. On the Boot tab, select Image file under Source of boot image data, and browse to the location of the Microsoft Corporation.img file. Also enable Expert Settings, choosing No Emulation, and changing the Number of loaded sectors to 4 (otherwise it won't boot!)

If you have an older version of Nero you won't have the option Do Not Add ";1" ISO file version extention under Relax ISO Restrictions. You won't be able to boot your new CD, so update Nero!
You can configure the Label tab to your liking, I would however recommend that you keep the Volume Label the same as on your original Windows XP CD. Here are some (English) Labels:

* Windows XP Professional: WXPCCP_EN
* Windows XP Home: WXHCCP_EN
* Windows XP Professional OEM: WXPOEM_EN
* Windows XP Home OEM: WXHOEM_EN

Next press New, and from the File Browser window, select the files and folders from your slipstreamed location (in my case D:\XP-CD). Now drag & drop the selected files in the ISO1 window.

Next, burn your new CD.

You now have a Bootable, Slipstreamed Windows XP Service Pack 2 CD!

Based on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, this specially
made version of Windows has been fully tweaked and transformed
for home use/playing games.

This operating system will run almost all of the software that
runs on Windows XP.

“Why use Windows Server 2003?” you might ask - because it runs
everything faster than Windows XP. Server 2003 boots up faster
than XP, it even runs GAMES faster than Windows XP, for example,
loading levels in Half Life 2 takes a third of the time it takes
in Windows XP. Also, you get way better frame rates in server
2003 too.

Server 2003 has no Welcome screen and it is simply more responsive
than Windows XP.

Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with SP1 allows up to eight
processors and 1 TB (terabyte) of RAM, yes, up to one thousand gigabytes
of RAM! So this OS is somewhat future proof, since most home systems
only use one or maybe two processors at the most and usually only use
up to 4Gb or 8Gb of RAM in even the most extreme gaming setups.

Perhaps it is best not to mention the real world cost of this OS,
but remember, this eXPerience Edition is not meant to be used as

however, this should not affect the use of this OS as a server, but
this is not its intended purpose - the purpose of this OS is to provide
a very fast and very stable home OS that runs software faster than XP
could ever hope to be, especially now XP has over 65 post SP2 hotfixes
you have to cram into it, it seems to get slower with every hotfix that
you install. Microsoft cannot afford to be like that with Server 2003
because it costs too much and professional Administrators would catch on.
Maybe the slowness of XP is down to Vista coming soon, who knows, but XP
is not what it once was, the fastest XP is probably with SP1. The theory
goes that hotfixes protect you from viruses and spyware, but I have yet
to experience any real evidence of that, however there is plenty of evidence
that hotfixes bloat XP and slow it down! Again, just in time for Vista.

DO NOT use conversion to a workstation tools on this OS like “TweakNT”
or “Reset5″ because those tools do not work on this corporate version
of Server 2003. If you use these tools, the OS will not be bootable
anymore.

The WINDOWS folder for this installation only uses 630Mb of hard disk
space, the normal full install of Server 2003 Enterprise Edition takes
up 1500Mb of space.

The ISO image of this eXPerience Edition is about 300Mb, this is half
the size of the normal ISO image and this special edition includes
additional drivers totalling about 45Mb of that 300Mb, so the actual
size for Windows on its own on the ISO image is roughly 250Mb. The
included drivers are all integrated so that your devices (see details
below for included drivers) will be working on installation. Driver
packs used are part of Bashrat the Sneaky’s driver packs, which are
finally a solution to unattended SATA problems that Microsoft seemingly
refuse to address.

RAM memory usage on first install = 55Mb

Only install this operating system onto a freshly formatted
partition or hard disk.

It is not possible to upgrade, because the option (44Mb) has been
removed. If you did “upgrade” from XP, you cannot go back to XP
again anyway.

To install this unattended version, simply boot from the CD and format
the drive or partition you want to install to, then just sit back and
wait 15 minutes and the installation takes care of itself. No ‘Product
Key’ is needed.

click, just run the key changer, click “Yes” and sit back whilst
the ACCU2003 program performs its tricks. This special edition
of Server 2003 does not need to be activated, because it is a
corporate (VLK) version.

It is recommended that for antivirus you use Symantec Antivirus
Corporate Client and for a firewall, use either Sygate Personal
Firewall Pro or BlackIce PC Protection. Common antivirus software
like that included with “Norton Systemworks” will not install on
Server 2003, this is maybe because Norton will not be held responsible
for protecting a server - remember, this operating system is supposed
to be used on a machine like a rackmounted server with hundreds of other
machines being run off of it. It is this very same reason why Server 2003
is much faster than Windows XP and is rock solid compared to ANY other
Windows. The only other software that might not install, is XP specific
software like Microsoft Plus! that is for use exclusively on XP, in other
words Microsoft Plus! for XP would not install on Windows 98 or Windows
2000 either. It seems that the only problem with Server 2003 and software
not installing is your choice of antivirus and firewall - stick with the
recommendtions above and you can’t go wrong.

All in all, I reduced a 590MB bloatware piece of sh*t, to a sweet,(295MB) hassle free version of XP.
